PRESENTATION DESCRIPTIONS
Decisions…decisions… “What’s a parent going to do?”
Mary Pat Moeller, Ph.D. – Keynote Presenter
Director, Center for Childhood Deafness
Boys Town National Research Hospital
Dr. Moeller has numerous publications and research studies surrounding early intervention, amplification, and aural rehabilitation related to children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Dr. Moeller is a dynamic presenter who will focus her keynote address on providing families with the basic knowledge of decision making and how decisions affect families who have children with hearing loss.

Audiology Basics
This presentation will cover basic anatomy of the ear and hearing testing. At the end of the presentation parents will feel more comfortable with how hearing is tested and what the results mean.

The Sky’s the Limit
This presentation will discuss language, literacy, and social development of children with hearing loss of different degrees.

Communication Development (Birth-3 years)
Presenter will share how to help develop your child’s language in your home and community using fun, practical, everyday activities.

Communication Development (3-5 years)
Presenter will share how to help develop your child’s language in your home and community using fun, practical, everyday activities.

IFSP – Continuum of Options
Presenters will share the variety of options available to families during the early intervention years, and how to determine what options appropriately meet your child’s needs.

IEP – Continuum of Options
Presenters will share the variety of options available to children during preschool and beyond, and how to determine what options appropriately meet your child’s needs.

Teen & Parent Panel
A group of teens with hearing loss and parents who have children with hearing loss will share their life experiences.
